My Top 5 SS23 Trends

Spring has officially landed and so have it's 2023 trends!

Now, I'm not the biggest trend advocate because they come and go and we can often feel like slaves to them. I'm more of an advocate of us building wardrobes that reflect who we are in this moment based on our style and how we want to represent ourselves.

Of course, this doesn't mean we have to say no to trends altogether, what it means is that we are selective. Each season we are presented with 10+ new trends, it's our job to sift through them and decide exactly which ones match our style aesthetic and make us feel like our true authentic selves...and then we can shop.

Below I've chosen my top 5 trends this Spring/Summer, let me know which ones you'll be trying:

1. Relaxed Jeans

I'm hearing a lot of people talk about skinny jeans not being 'in fashion' anymore, and whilst they are less popular at the moment, they are still absolutely fine to wear. Different cuts of jeans suit different bodies and so the cuts never go 'out of fashion'. Having said that, relaxed fits actually suit every single body shape, so if you are looking to subtly update your look, this would be the ideal place to start.

2. Sheer

I feel there will be some resistance on this one but hear me out. Sheer doesn't need to mean see-through (unless you want it to). You can wear slips under sheer dresses, vests under sheer tops, you can go for sheer sleeves or simply sheer detailing on items of clothing. Either way, it's sexy, feminine and perfect for the warmer months.

3. 90's Grunge

If you've been seeing people wearing your 1990's wardrobe recently, it's because 90's grunge is back! You’ll see things like cobweb weave-like knitwear, blurry prints and cargo pants.

4. Maxi Skirts

Another blast from the past here! And the best thing about them, they work for every body shape. While the weather's still a little cooler, pair them with biker boots and as the temperatures rise, swap out your boots for your sandals. Denim maxi styles are particularly popular!

5. Asymmetry

Asymmetric details are also popular this season, whether that's on a neckline, sleeve length, the hem of your skirt or trousers or even asymmetric waist details, either way it's a super flattering detail on all bodies depending on where it's placed.

Let me know in the comments which one's you'll be trying and if you want more information on how to style these trends for your shape and lifestyle, join The Stylista Society or book your 1-2-1 session in today.

Love always,
